Summary[edit | edit source]

Virtual Motion Sensor with Switch Capability as well.

Features[edit | edit source]

  • Useful when you want to "turn on" or "turn off" a Motion Sensor. For example, Alexa can turn on/off a virtual switch, but cannot change the status of a virtual motion sensor. This driver allows Alexa, IFTTT, Google, etc... to manipulate a virtual motion sensor (active/inactive) as if it was a switch.
  • Automatically "turns off" after 3 seconds.
  • Can be used as a Motion Sensor or a Switch in any Automation.
  • One great use for this is to integrate a Ring Doorbell by using an Alexa Routine. The Alexa Routine is triggered by the Ring Doorbell's Motion Event. The Routine then simply "turns on" the virtual motion sensor by treating it like a switch. Three seconds later, Hubitat automatically turns off the motion sensor so it will be ready for the next Ring Doorbell event.
